Abstract:

This thesis examines the impact of internet usage on financial inclusion among rural households in Vietnam, using data from the 2018 Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey (VHLSS). Employing a negative binomial model and an ordinal probit model, the study finds that internet use significantly enhances financial inclusion, increasing both the number of financial products used and the likelihood of belonging to the High Financial Inclusion category. The findings underscore the importance of expanding internet access in rural areas to promote inclusive growth, improve financial accessibility, and support policies that enhance digital infrastructure and economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities.
