Preface

The VNP, established in 1994, was among the pioneering educational cooperation initiatives between the governments of Vietnam and the Netherlands. Over the past three decades, the program has achieved remarkable milestones and significant accomplishments. We would call it a “Journey of Sustainability“, as the program’s primary mission has been to foster talented individuals with a vision of sustainable development.

We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude to the lecturers and generations of students who have demonstrated trust and supported the program throughout these 30 years of its inception.

We look forward to a positive response and share information among VNPers regarding the series of events planned to commemorate the program’s 30th anniversary. Our objective is to continue transmitting sustainable values to the upcoming generations, and we invite all of you to join us in this effort.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

VNP FOREST
FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

VNP has formed a collaboration with GAIA Nature Conservation Center to execute a forestation campaign, named “For a Sustainable Future.” The primary objective of this initiative is to plant and supervise 1.25 hectares of forest within the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve.

VNP ACADEMIC HEIGHTS:
FROM THESIS TO PROFESSION

We are planning a distinctive event where we will display 30 theses – each representing a year of the program’s existence. This showcase is intended to highlight the exceptional academic quality and tremendous impact that VNP has had over the past thirty years.

VNPERS' GALA DINNER
"FOUR-SEA BROTHERS"

In December 2023, VNPers will convene for a Gala Dinner, which will serve as an occasion for reminiscing, exchanging presents, and fostering future connections.

VNP FOREST
For a sustainable future

The “VNP Forest – For a Sustainable Future” campaign is a joint effort between VNP and GAIA Nature Conservation Center. The campaign’s aim is to establish and monitor a 1.25-hectare section of native forest within the Dong Nai Natural and Cultural Reserve, which forms part of the Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve.

This particular area, spanning 10,000 hectares, was established in 2004 and boasts significant biodiversity, including the Trị An hydroelectric reservoir. The forested area will be carefully tended by GAIA for four years after planting to ensure a high survival rate of the trees. It is situated in an ecological restoration zone, where unauthorized exploitation is strictly prohibited. The Reserve Management Board will be responsible for managing and safeguarding the forested area beyond the initial four-year period.

TREE DONATION

A donation of 10€ enables the contribution of ONE tree towards the VNP Forest, inclusive of expenses related to the tree’s nurturing and ensuring its optimal growth for the next four years

PLANTING TRIP

By registering for the “VNP Forest Day” event, scheduled for July 30th, 2023, you will have the opportunity to personally plant trees within the 1.25 ha VNP forest and enjoy the practice of “forest bathing” at the Dong Nai Cultural and Natural Conservation Area. The associated cost of the trip is 80€ per individual.

VNP Academic Heights

VNP proudly announces a unique activity to celebrate our program’s 30th anniversary. We will be showcasing 30 theses, one for each year of the program’s existence, to demonstrate the impact and academic quality of VNP over the past three decades.

Each thesis will be carefully selected for its quality and relevance to Vietnam’s economic development at the time it was written. By presenting these theses, we hope to showcase the sustainability of our program, and demonstrate how VNP has been making significant contributions to the country’s economic growth over the years.

This showcase of 30 carefully selected theses highlights the impact and academic quality of VNP over the past 30 years. The theses are a testament to the rigorous academic standards upheld at VNP and the quality of the faculty and students. VNP has been at the forefront of economic research in Vietnam, and our graduates have made significant contributions to the economic development of the country. Through this showcase, we aim to demonstrate our program’s sustainability, academic excellence, and contribution to the country’s economic development.

We are excited to share this as a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty over the past 30 years. We look forward to continuing our mission of promoting economic development in Vietnam through education and research, and to providing our students with the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference.
